Hope you enjoy my story…
Phil lived with kidney failure (aka renal failure) for more than half his life. During that time he had four kidney transplants that failed and one that finally worked. He provides readers with an insight on what his life was like on dialysis and how he coped with all the challenges that came his way over the 16 years before he received “The Gift.” As you know Phil is from Australia and currently lives in Surrey, U.K., where he is perusing his passion in music and song writing.
Phil marks his publishing debut with the release of “The Gift: Had My Life Just Begun?” (published by Balboa Press), a memoir sharing his remarkable story of balancing a life on dialysis with four failed transplants and the changes that occurred when he received the gift of life.
“The Gift” is about his life and how he tried to find a balance living with a chronic condition, the problems associated with the condition and making the most out of his life. It describes how receiving the fifth kidney transplant changed his life for the better, and realising that maintaining a balance in one’s life is the most important thing.
Through his experiences he imparts to readers an understanding about a life with chronic condition and some pointers about getting a balance to their lives. “The book has taken a long time to complete, but I hope it will help other people who are in a similar position, trying to live with a chronic illness or being kept alive by a machine,” he shares.
